This is our own Anna (Beatty) Schneider , age 93 and a resident of Walnut Creek Nursing Home in Paoli, IN. She was selected to serve as the queen of Valentine Day this year.

Anna and her husband, Calvin Schneider were avid supporters of the Beatty reunion and they never missed one until their health broke. She resided here some time ago but improved to such an extent that her daughter took her to her home in Sullivan, IN and she lived there quite awhile but now she is back in the home.

Anna is the last surviving child of of the seven children born to Sherman and Ella Beatty of the Log Creek

neighborhood near Paoli,IN.Her husband, Calvin also resided in the nursing home until his death in May. 1998.

The West Baden Catholic Church

I would be inclined to believe that not many readers can recall seeing this quaint old church. Shortly after Lee Sinclair bought the hotel in 1888 he had the church built so that his employees and hotel guests would have a place to worship. It was built into the side of a hill in the rear of the hotel. It was a pretty good walk just getting up there. The
