On April 27th the entire family of Billie and Marvin Beatty (plus two
guests) converged on Nashville, Tennessee, in order to celebrate their 60th
wedding anniversary. Jim Beatty hosted the event, which was held at the
Copelands of New Orleans restaurant in Brentwood, Tennessee.
All are named Beatty except for the two guests. Directly behind me are Joanna,
Jennifer, Danny, and Billie.
Behind them are Beth, Dustin Bowman, Greg holding Matthew, Jim, Mary and
Robert Cox.
Last row – Mike, Kent, Ryan, and Patty.
Marvin and Billie Blackford were married in the Old Union United Brethren
Parsonage in Orange County, Indiana on the 27th of April, 1943, by the pastor,
Rev. Davis. Marvin’s brother Don and Alberta Noblitt were the witnesses. It
was graduating night at Paoli High School and we waited until Alberta
graduated and then we went out and woke up the preacher. I was home on
furlough at the time. It was more than two years before I saw home again.
A night to remember!!
